I lived across from Charlie on Balsam Street for many years. I remember a few times when he and Wesley (my dad) had to break up an apple fight between me and Johnny when they got out of hand. More recently I enjoyed talking about the "old days" with Charlie when he would pull up to the VA in his convertible. He was well known and liked in the neighborhood and will be missed.
