Obituary for Ric J. Stream

Florence-Richard J. “Ric” Stream, 51, of Homestead, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home.

He was born on March 30, 1968, in New Ulm, Minn., son of Karen (Stream) Saunders and Richard Stream. Ric was raised in the area and attended Florence County Public Schools, graduating in 1986. He studied business and worked at a variety of jobs, but music was his passion. Ric performed in bands beginning in his high school years with his good friend, Bobby Nichols, and his cousin, Brad Johnson. He played with 2 bands in Green Bay and, of late, performed solo at various venues in the area and in Green Bay. Ric was looking forward to a very busy December.

Ric is survived by his mother, Karen Saunders; his children, Melinda (Ben) Milan and Richard Johnson; a very special friend, Pam Macek, who brought much happiness into his life. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and his father.

Ric was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dennis Saunders, and by his grandparents, Hartley and Marcia Anderson and Wayne and Ruby Stream.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Burial will follow at the Aurora Homestead Cemetery.

To the family & friends of Ric Stream: Ric worked for me in the early 90's, cooking on the night shift at Mary's Place in Beecher--another of his many talents! He was a wonderfully gifted person, not just musically, but in many ways. I feel fortunate that I got to visit with him this summer. God speed, Ric!

I was shocked to hear of Ric's passing. He was a special person and a great musician. He performed many times in Goodman, Wisconsin, for our "Music in the Square" during the summer months. He also sang and played for my surprise birthday party on October 19 (just a month ago). He sang a special "Happy birthday" to me, and I gave him a glad I did. I, and the whole town of Goodman, is saddened by his death. We will miss him so much!
