Obituary for Lorraine R. Williams

Lorraine Rose Williams finished her 90 year journey to Heaven, March 25, 2009, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.
She was born October 22, 1918, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Mose and Sophie (Sutter) LeVernois. Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls and graduated from Crystal Falls High School Class of 1936. She married James Williams at the First United Methodist Church, Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2001.
Soon after graduation, Lorraine started working as a bookkeeper at the Cloverland Lumber Company, which was sold to Northern Paper Mills, then to Caspian Lumber Company, and finally to Slivensky Building and Supply. After 37 years in that office, she transferred to the Crystal Falls Community Hospital to work in the office with her husband, Jim. They retired together in 1981.
Lorraine was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Crystal Falls, the Eastern Star, and the Crystal Falls Musicale for many years. She enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. Lorraine and Jim were avid square dancers for many years. She always thought that being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was one of the most rewarding things in her life.

Augustine, Lansing, Ill.; six grandchildren, Christopher (Sandy) Makuck, Eau Claire, Wis., Kevin (Christy) Makuck, Iron River, Mich., Kyle (Sally) Makuck, Oconto Falls, Wis., Sara (Steve) Schultz, Hoffman Estates, Ill., Amy Augustine, Eutica, N.Y., David A.
