Obituary for Dennis R. LaFountain
Crystal Falls-Dennis R. LaFountain, age 71, of Iron River, Mich., passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the Iron County Medical Care Facility.
Dennis was born in Iron River on May 17, 1947, to Raymond and Mary (Bicus) LaFountain.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in Vietnam. Dennis then moved to Florida and was a Service Technician with ADT Security Company for approximately 40 years. When Dennis retired, he moved back to Iron River. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his grandchildren Joey and Alyssa Gingerella; special friend Cynthia Nelson; one brother Gary LaFountain of Iron River, Mich.; two sisters, Janice (Phillip) Stanton of Oscoda, Mich., and Kathleen (Jesse) Carlson of Negaunee, Mich.; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Liz and daughter Christine Gingerella.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Milwaukee VA and the Iron County Medical Facility for the excellent care given.
In keeping with the wishes of Dennis, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held on September 8, 2018 for family and close friends.
