Obituary for William K. "Bill" VanPembrook Sr.

William K. "Bill"  VanPembrook Sr.
William K. VanPembrook, Sr., 77, of Niagara, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014, at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kingsford, Mich.

He was born February 4, 1936, in Aurora, Wis., son of the late August and Grace VanPembrook. Bill grew up in Aurora and graduated from Kingsford High School. He worked at the Niagara Paper Mill as a calendar/ machine operator retiring in 1999, at the age of 62. Bill took great pride in working for the union, serving as union president for the paper mill. He enjoyed spending time at camp, remodeling it through the years and then making it their retirement home. For 22 years, Bill and Toni attended the Country Music Festival in Porterfield, Wis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Toni; four sons, William “Jumbo” VanPembrook (Raissa Clarkson), Kingsford, Terry (Mary) VanPembrook, Iron Mountain, Mich., Craig (Juli) VanPembrook, Kingsford, Kevin (Tammy) VanPembrook, Neenah, Wis.; two sisters, Bonnie (Bill) Caviani, New Berlin, Wis. and Pat (Roger) Baravetto, Iron Mountain; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one sister, Janice.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at ManorCare and Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care that was given to Bill.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
