Obituary for Colleen M. Osier

Colleen M. Osier
Niagara-Colleen M. Osier, age 65, of Niagara, Wis., passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara, Wis., with her husband at her side.

She was born March 8, 1953, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Kenneth and M. Elaine (Vigneau) Osier. Colleen grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from UW-Eau Claire and her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from UW-Stout. Colleen married the love of her life, Bruce Morstad, on August 12, 1988. They lived in Iron Mountain, Niagara and the home they built “off the grid” at Deer Lake. Her career was spent as a caring and respected provider of mental health services to families in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. She retired on April 1, 2018 due to poor health.

Colleen enjoyed caring for the homes and gardens they developed over the years and spending time at Deer Lake was especially joyful. Friends and family will remember her gentle and caring personality, her beautiful smile, and her ability to connect with others. Colleen was strong, courageous, kind and loving to the end. We were all blessed to have her in our lives.

Survivors include her loving husband, Bruce Morstad; two sons, Phillip (Karla) Morstad and their children, Stella and Ryder of Dorado, Puerto Rico and Chris (Kari) Morstad and their children, Hannah and Chase, Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Helene (Jack) Frye-Osier, Verona, Wis. and Mary Osier of Plover, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Osier of Iron River, Mich. and Jean Schlais of The Villages, Florida; brother-in-law, Jeff (Kathy) Morstad of McFarland, Wis.; four nephews, five nieces, two great-nieces and ten great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Colleen was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth J. Osier and Thomas P. Osier.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara Wis. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Michael Lightner will officiate. Burial will take place at Niagara Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Niagara Area Scholarship Foundation or to Maryhill Manor in Colleen’s memory.
