Obituary for Clarice M. LaCount (Brock)

Clarice M.  LaCount (Brock)
Clarice M. LaCount, 95, passed peacefully away at her life-long residence in Niagara, Wis., on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

She was born October 2, 1919, in Niagara, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Champeau) Brock.

Clarice graduated from Niagara High School in 1937, after which she was employed by Kimberly Clark Corp working at their Club House. During World War II, she moved to Milwaukee, Wis. and was employed as a Supervisor for Cutler Hammer Corp.

In 1945, she married Raymond E. LaCount upon his return from active duty in the United States Army in Italy and Northern Africa. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Clarice was a very active member of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Women’s Guild. She was also a high roller for the Kinsella and Niagara Vending Bowling teams. In later years, she bowled in the Senior Olympics in Tucson, Ariz.

She enjoyed her flower gardens, was a great scratch baker, brownie scout leader and seamstress – sewing many costumes for her children, especially for the Niagara Ice Skating shows.

Clarice is survived by her three children, Karen LaCount, Green Bay, Wis., Douglas (Shelley) LaCount, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. and Michael LaCount, De Pere, Wis.; four grandchildren, Mark Wade (Teri), Long Island City, NY, Stephanie Wade, Arlington, VA, Amanda (Matt) Sawinski, Milwaukee and Michael Ray Brock LaCount, Milwaukee and nephews, Greg Conrad, Minneapolis, Minn., Dennis Conrad, Niagara, and Charles Welke, Eland, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Wayne and Robert; one sister, Eva Conrad and daughter-in-law, Lola LaCount.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 22, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel to honor Clarice’s Legacy of Life.
