Obituary for Norman J. DeCremer

Norman J.  DeCremer
Niagara-Norman J. DeCremer, 71, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich.

He was born October 12, 1945 in Norway, Mich., son of the late Frank and Edith (Axelson) DeCremer. Norm grew up in Niagara and is a graduate of Niagara High School, Class of 1964. He served in the United States Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967. Norm married Mary Lou Winters on August 14, 1971 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. They resided in Aurora before moving to Niagara Township where they have resided for the past many years.

He worked for the Niagara Papermill in the Core room, Silo, Tool Crib, operated the fork lift and was in charge of maintenance. Norm was a member of the American Legion Cretton-Tutas Post #136, Niagara. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, the outdoors, riding his tractor and especially the time he spent with his family and friends.

Norm is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Lou, Niagara; two sons, Dan (Jenny) DeCremer, Luxemburg, Wis. and Mike DeCremer, Niagara and two grandchildren, Oscar and Isabelle.

In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Bill DeCremer and two sisters, Virginia Henke and Dorothy Growden.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. The American Legion Cretton-Tutas Post #136 will accord Military Honors at graveside. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery.
