Obituary for Henry W. Butler

Henry W.  Butler

Niagara-Henry W. Butler, 82, of Ishpeming, Mich., formerly of Minneapolis, Minn., passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at UP Health Systems, Marquette, Mich.

He was born October 7, 1934 in Bath, Maine, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Harvie) Butler. Henry graduated high school in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1953. He went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany.

Henry had some college and took an interest in accounting. He resided for many years in Minneapolis where he worked for the University of Minnesota as a boilermaker. Henry moved to Ishpeming, Mich. in 2016 where he has resided at the Lighthouse Nursing Facility to be closer to his brother.

He loved sports, especially watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins.

Henry is survived by one son, Michael Butler, State of Washington; one daughter, Emma (John) Franklin, State of Washington; one brother, John (Pat) Butler, Niagara, Wis.; one sister, JoEllen Amero, California; two grandchildren, Jackson and Miles.

A graveside service will be held in Niagara Cemetery in the spring.
