Obituary for William T. "Bill" Koziatek

William T. "Bill"  Koziatek
William T. Koziatek, age 85, of Buck Lake, Mich., lost his yearlong courageous battle with spinal cord cancer on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Iron County Medical Care Facility. He was born September 11, 1931 in Alpha, Mich., to the late William and Mary (Terensky) Koziatek. Bill graduated from Harrison High School in Chicago, Ill., Class of 1950. Following his schooling he completed Tool and Die apprenticeship training. Bill married Mildred Gryczan on June 6, 1953 in Chicago, Ill. Bill’s lifelong occupation was a tool and die maker/designer working for Lindy Manufacturing for over 40 years. He moved to Buck Lake, Mich. in 2003 from Wheaton, Ill. and was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church.

Bill’s passion was his family. He loved fishing and was an excellent gardener. Bill enjoyed working in the woods planting and trimming trees and supplied people in need of firewood. He could fix anything, including making parts for needed repairs. Bill was a man of incredible character. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Mildred Koziatek; two sons, Randy (Gina) Koziatek, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Kevin Koziatek of Wheaton, Ill.; three daughters, Debbie (Rich) Marx, Judy (Ken) Kubica and Sandy (Jeff) Armstrong, all of Wheaton, Ill.; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Evelyn and Dorothy.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, Mich. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Northwoods Animal Shelter, 930 Selden Road, Iron River, MI 49935 or Alpha Historical Museum, P.O. Box 7, Alpha, MI 49902.

A luncheon to celebrate Bill’s life will take place on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 12 Noon at The Village Inn in Alpha, Mich. All are welcome.
