Obituary for Aileen Marie Lowis (Cardinal)

Iron Mountain – Aileen M. Lowis, 84, of Niagara passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at Azura Memory Care, Kenosha, Wis.

She was born on July 8, 1932 in Niagara, daughter of the late Arthur and Albenna “Bea” (Chamberlain) Cardinal. Aileen graduated from Niagara High School class of 1950. She married Wayne Lowis on October 7, 1950 in Niagara. They resided in Racine, Wis. where they raised their family. In 1972 they moved back to Niagara. Aileen worked for Shopko Corporation for over 25 years before retiring.

Aileen enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, shopping, camping and her many casino trips with her friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Wayne; two sons Mike (Karen) Lowis, Florence, Wis. and Mark (Melanie) Lowis, Oostburg, Wis.; four daughters Kristine (Bob) Carlson, Racine, Wis., Donna Turrie, DePere, Wis., Patricia Bjorkman, Kingsford, Mich. and Nancy Lowis, Racine, Wis.; one brother Richard Cardinal, Mary Hill Manor, Niagara, Wis.; eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Arthur and Bea, Aileen was preceded in death by one brother Kenneth Cardinal, Niagara.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, 3:00pm at the funeral home.
