Obituary for Thomas D. Neuens

Thomas D.  Neuens
Niagara-Thomas D. Neuens, 66, of Niagara, WI, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Freemans Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Kingsford, MI.

He was born November 2, 1949 in Iron Mountain, son of the late Jacob and Darleen (DuFresne) Neuens. Tom grew up in Aurora and graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1967. He received a BA in Language and Linguistics from Mankato University and he attended Thiensville where he studied Theology for three years. Tom resided in Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls, WI where he worked as an Engineer in the Water Purification plant for many years. He moved to Niagara in 1988.

Tom was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kingsford, where he had served many years as an Elder. He was a Niagara School Board member and enjoyed reading, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and deer hunting in his earlier years. Tom especially enjoyed being around his family and he will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a son, Shannon Neuens of Whitefish Bay, WI; three daughters, Kari Ann Hauser of Milwaukee, WI, Lindsay (Nathan) Eskritt of Green Bay, WI and Beth Neuens of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, Raymond (Kathy) Neuens of Aurora, WI and Ronald (Pam) Neuens of Niagara, WI; two sisters, Nancy (Rod) Miller of Fern, WI, and Lori (Terry) Weinfurter of Aurora, WI; granddaughters, Evelyn and Eleanor Eskritt and Carmen Neuens, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and good friend, Allan.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul Neuens and one daughter-in-law, Maura Neuens.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kingsford. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM at the church. Rev. Tom Mackey will officiate. Burial will be in Aurora Cemetery.

The family would like to Thank Freemans Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the great care Tom received during his stay.

A memorial will be established in Tom’s memory.
