Obituary for Thomas P. "TPO" Osier

Thomas P. "TPO"  Osier
NIAGARA, Wis.- Thomas P. “TPO” Osier, 61, of Iron Mountain, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at home of natural causes. He was born January 13, 1955, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Kenneth A.and M. Elaine (Vigneau) Osier.

Tom grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School, Class of 1973. He served in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged moved back to Niagara. Tom worked at the Niagara Paper Mill and became a Union Millwright at a young age. Later in his working career he worked as a union contract millwright, retiring in 2012. Tom was also a professional Sawyer for many years and worked as a logger in Colorado and Montana.

He attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. He was a member of the Iron Mountain VFW and the American Legion Post No. 50. Tom was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his friends at Camp. Tom had a talent for small engine repair and generously shared this gift with friends and family. He was known for his kind and genuine, caring spirit and "TPO's Partridge Dance".

Tom is survived by three sisters, Colleen (Bruce) Morstad Osier of Niagara, Helene (Jack) Frye-Osier of Verona, Wis. and Mary Osier of Plover, Wis. and sister-in-law, Darleen Osier of Iron River. Tom was the proud uncle of 16 nephews and 6 nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth J Osier.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. A private burial service will be held for family members at the Niagara Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorials in Tom's name to the Iron Mountain, MI Oscar G Johnson, VA Medical Center General Purpose Fund.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel to honor Tom’s Legacy of Life.
