Obituary for Vera M. Hasenjaeger (Zeitzius)
Iron Mountain – Vera M. Hasenjaeger, 81, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her home.
She was born July 26, 1934, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Joseph and Irene Zeutzius. Vera graduated from Kingsford High School. After graduation she moved to Chicago, Ill. and worked for over 40 years at the American Can Printing Company as an Administrative Assistant, she moved back to Iron Mountain in 1987. After her return, she worked at the Kingsford Post Office and Kingsford Housing, retiring in 2015.
Vera was an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain, the Red Hat Society and the Lady Elks. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Vera will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by two sons, Jeb Hasenjaeger and Gregg Hasenjaeger, both of Iron Mountain; one brother, John (Ruth) Zeutzius of Virginia; many foster children including, Harold England, Mike Klaw, Tony Bonanti their families and Gary Klatt all of the Chicago area and Robert McMurphy, Gaylord, Mich. and many nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Susan Hasenjaeger; two brothers, Paul and Lyle Zeutzius and one sister, Mary Hendrickson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Bob Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery.
