Obituary for Helen E. "Niemi" Broman

Helen E. "Niemi"  Broman
CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. - Helen E. Broman, 99, of Crystal Falls, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls.

She was born March 13, 1917, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Alex and Elizabeth (Norena) Niemi.

Helen grew up in Crystal Falls and graduated from Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1934. She married Elden Broman on October 13, 1950; he preceded her in death on February 16, 1987. Helen was a member of United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. She worked in the local area for over 50 years; she was employed at Crystal Bakery, Michigan Bell, Rosemurgy’s and several grocery stores which included F&S, A& P, Super Valu, and Red Owl.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Broman (Kayem) of Grand Rapids, Mich.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Elden, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Toivo (Liz), Einar (Miriam), Ole (Margaret), Reino and Arthur Broman and one sister, Signie (Gust) Wirman.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor LaVonne Stephenson will officiate. Burial will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.

In Helen’s memory donations can be made to the United Lutheran Church or Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the “ICMCF” staff and Dr. Han for their wonderful and compassionate care.

The family has chosen the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls to honor Helen’s Legacy of Life.
