Obituary for Edward F. Ziomek Jr.
Edward F. Ziomek Jr., 63, of Florence, Wis., passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at his home.
He was born March 10, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Edward F. and Mary (Liba) Ziomek Sr.
Ed grew up and graduated from high school in Chicago. He attended Triton College in Chicago where he received several certificates in Auto Mechanics.
He moved to Florence in 1978, and worked for Scott Lad Foods, for a few years as their head mechanic. Ed moved to New Lennox, Ill., where he owned and operated “Rite-A-Way Auto Repair Shop” and retired in 2009, at which time he moved back to Florence.
Ed enjoyed hunting, gunsmithing, fishing and all the outdoors had to offer.
He is survived by one son, Joseph (Bethy) Palumbo of Salem, Wis.; one grandson, Douglas “D.J.” Palumbo of Salem and one cousin, Leatrice (Bob) Malone of Davenport, Iowa.
In accordance with Ed’s wishes, private family services will be held.
The family has chosen the Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence to honor Ed’s Legacy of Life.
