Obituary for Don Hagstrom

Don  Hagstrom
FLORENCE, Wis. - Don Hagstrom, 74, of Florence, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Florence.

He was born April 12, 1941, in Chicago, Ill. son of the late Henry and Lois (Biller) Hagstrom.

Don grew up in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School Class of 1959. He owned a credit company and then worked for the United State Postal Service in Chicago. He moved to Florence in 1984, where he owned and operated Don and Poppy’s Pub in Florence; he also managed Riverside Liquor Store until his retirement in 2004.

He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting, especially with his cousins, Earl and Kenny Biller. Don was a member of the Swedish Club while he lived in Chicago and was very proud of his Swedish heritage.

Don is survived by one daughter, Lori Lomma of Addison, Ill; two grandsons, Nicholas (Irene Rico) and Daniel Lomma, both of Ill.; one sister, Jean (Jim) Bor of Ariz.; many friends, including close friend Bill Joslin; one niece, Julie; two nephews, Chris and Bryan; cousins and uncle to many great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Dick” Hagstrom and cousin, Earl Biller.

There will be a Celebration of Don’s Life held in Florence this summer.
