Douglas R.  Koller
Iron Mountain, Mich. - Douglas R. Koller, 55, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at his home.

He was born April 8, 1960, in Iron Mountain, son of Donald and Dana (Bonikowske) Koller.

Doug grew up in Norway and graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1978. He excelled in football where his teammates called him “Moose”; he also participated in Track and Cross Country. Doug served our country in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged attended Northern Michigan University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Science. He served in the Army Reserves for years and was deployed during Desert Storm. Doug worked for Grede Foundry and later for Aurora Castings.

He loved hunting, fishing, trapping and going to camp.

Doug is survived by his mother, Dana (Gerald) Arnold, Hardwood; one son, Johnathan Koller, Milwaukee, Wis.; one daughter, Victoria Miller, Green Bay, Wis.; three brothers, David (Julie) Koller, Iron Mountain, Robert (Vicki) Sparapana, Iron Mountain and Gerald (Melody) Arnold, Jr., Norway, Mich.; two sisters, Denise (Barry) Barglind, Kingsford and Darla (James) Pardon, Gladstone, Mich.; one special friend, Susan Miller, Kingsford; one special uncle, Fred Koller, Kingsford; one aunt, Audrey (Richard) Dallapiazza, Spread Eagle, Wis. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Koller on April 5, 2015

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate.The American Legion Uren-Cooper-Johnson Iron Mountain Post No. 50 will accord Military Honors at graveside. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.

A memorial will be established in his memory.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Doug’s Legacy of Life.
