SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. — Vivian A. Wood, 91, of Spread Eagle, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home in Niagara, Wis.

She was born May 22, 1924, in Iron Mountain, Mich. daughter of the late Martin and Cecelia (DeLangis) Makoutz.

Vivian grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1942. After high school she moved to Ypsilanti, Mich. and worked in the bomber plant in WWII. Vivian married Floyd Wood on December 15, 1945, in Iron Mountain; he preceded her in death on April 12, 1993. They lived in Iron Mountain, Aurora, Wis. and Spread Eagle. She was Town Treasurer of Aurora, an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Aurora where she served as president, worked at Lakeland Dairy, Riverside Liquor and after moving to Spread Eagle was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Florence.

She enjoyed crocheting, craft shows, reading, writing, sewing for her children and spending time with her family.

Vivian is survived by one son, Steven (Sheila) Wood, Iron Mountain; two daughters, Kathleen (John) Denton, Spread Eagle and Dawn (Ronald) Moore, Aurora; one sister, Joyce Gordon, Kingsford; one son-in-law, James Ferris, Florence; five grandchildren, Shawn (Jessica), Bobbie Jo, Cody, Lisa and Tim; seven great-grandchildren, Allison, Jesse, Hannah, Kasey, Morgan, Lacey and Skye-Lynn and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Floyd, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristine Ferris, 2006; one grandson, Ryan Moore. two brothers, Martin Jr. and Gerald Makoutz and one sister, Lorraine Schintgen.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the Aurora-Homestead Cemetery, Aurora.
