Lulu E.  Phillips (Bailey)
CRYSTAL FALLS — Lulu E. Phillips, 80, of Woodruff, Wis., passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, at Avanti Health and Rehabilitation Center, Minocqua, Wis.

She was born March 13, 1935, in Florence, Wis. daughter of the late Clarence and Dora (Bailey) Johnson.

Lulu grew up in Alpha, Mich. and graduated from Alpha High School, Class of 1954. She married Robert Phillips on October 8, 1955, in North Carolina where he was serving our country in the United States Marine Corp. They resided in Madison, Wisconsin Dells and St. Germain, Wis. She later moved with her husband to Kingsford where they managed a do-nut shop and later owned Bob and Lu’s Pasty Shop. They moved to the Northwood’s of Wisconsin in 1984.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, bird watching and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Lulu is survived by one a son, Leonard (Stacy) Phillips, Woodruff, Wis.; one daughter, Doreen (Spencer) Shaker, Woodruff, Wis.; four grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Jesse and Isaiah; three sisters, Doris Suheski, Crystal Falls, Lila Harrington, Madison and Donna Johnson, Madison; one brother, Jimmy (Vivian) Johnson, Alpha; one brother-in-law, Jack (Barbara) Phillips, Coon Rapids, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Lucile Phillips, Gladstone and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by seven sisters-in-law, Ruth Winuk, Peggy, Patsy, Agnes, Arlene, Bea and Eleanor Phillips and nine brothers-in-law, Edward, Donald, Raymond, Alfred “Jim”, Ken and Tom Phillips, Jim Johnson, Ronald Harrington and Joe Suheski.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Sudduth will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, in the spring.
