Obituary for Tom L. Miller

Tom L.  Miller
Tom L. Miller, 69, of Milwaukee Wis., passed away Saturday, January 16th, 2016, at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, Wis.

He was born September 13, 1946, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late Gust and Agnes Miller.

Tom grew up in Fern, Wis. and attended Florence High School. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Tom then moved to California where he earned his college degree in journalism. After college he moved to Milwaukee where he worked with his brothers in their tree servicing businesses.

He was a quiet person who enjoyed reading, writing, and occasional trips to the family property in Florence, Wis. Tom is remembered by his family and friends as a person who never said an unkind word about anyone. He is also remembered for giving his family one of their most cherished keepsakes, the memoir he wrote with the help of his mother Agnes Miller about her childhood.

Tom is survived by four brothers, Oscar Miller, Hopkins Minn., Dave Miller, Milwaukee, Bob Miller, Milwaukee and Rod (Nancy) Miller, Fern Wis.; two sisters, Marlene Fontana, Sacramento Calif. and Bonnie Lamar, San Jose, Calif. and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman Miller, Donald Miller, and Leslie Miller and one sister, Dorothy Vassar.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fence Bible Church, Fence. Wis. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Tim Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Fence Cemetery in the spring.
