Obituary for John Denley Nelson

John Denley Nelson
John Denley Nelson, of Singapore, SG, formerly of Iron Mountain, went to his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 1, 2016.

He was born on April 28, 1985, in Iron Mountain to Timothy and Linda Nelson.

After graduating from Kingsford High School in 2003, it took just one day for John to spread his wings as he moved about the world entertaining people as a professional water skier and stunt man. Taking only a brief break from entertaining to attend the Commercial Diving Academy (where he graduated at the top of his class), John’s passion for life called him back to a world of performing. A world where his desire to make people smile could shine through on a daily basis.

John (Nelsy, Nels, Nelson) literally made a career of living life to the fullest. He took to heart the saying that “it is better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way”. For that, his family and friends from around the world idolized him. John was adored by many for his terribly infectious smile (which was worn constantly) and for his choice to live each day full of joy. He deeply engrained his faith into his every move. Top it off with a heart and personality that loved every person, held not a grudge and uplifted every living being that crossed paths with him, you have a picture of the most perfect human God could possibly create.

He is survived by his parents, Timothy and Linda of Iron Mountain; sister, Valerie, her husband, Erik and their two sons, Brett and Tyler of Winter Haven, Fla.; sister, Jennifer, her husband, Kyle and their son Braiden and daughter, Corinne of Houghton, Mich. and his countless family-like-friends from around the globe.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, 1:00 pm, at Evangelical Covenant Church 120 O’Dill Rd, Norway, MI 49870. Rev. James Danielson will officiate.

You may light a candle in remembrance of John or leave a condolence for his family online at www.JacobsFuneralHomes.com.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor John’s legacy of life.
