Berniece E.  Colony
Berniece Elise Colony, 84, of Burlington, Wis., formerly of Crystal Falls, passed away Dec. 10, 2015, at Burlington Health & Rehab Center in Burlington.

She was born April 24, 1931, in Mansfield, Mich., daughter of the late Charles and Laura Rose (nee Lane) Colony.

Berniece spent her early life and received her education in Mansfield, graduating from Crystal Falls High School. Following graduation, Berniece worked at the lron County Register of Deeds in Crystal Falls, Mich. She then moved to Waukegan, lll., where she spent five years working at the Great Lakes Naval Base, before taking on the position as a corporate secretary to the vice president of National Acceptance Corporation, in Chicago, lll., for 37 years.

She was a member of the Methodist Church in Waukegan, lll. Berniece enjoyed bowling and baseball; she loved animals, especially dogs, and was a caregiver to many people in Waukegan, lll.

Berniece is survived by one sister-in-law, Arlene Colony, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Gertrude Colony, Dorothy Colony-Thompson, Corrine Frisque, LeRoy Colony, Charles Colony, Harry Colony, Beatrice Covert-Hauke and an infant sibling.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Evergreen Cemetery in Crystal Falls, Mich., with Pastor Steven Sudduth officiating. Memorials have been suggested to the Humane Society
