Obituary for Mayford A. Dain

Mayford A.  Dain
Mayford A. Dain, 87, of Iron Mountain, passed away on December 10, 2015, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Waupaca, Wis.

He was born September 18, 1928, in Kaukauna, Wis., son of the late Erwin and Anna Mae (Theisen) Dain.

Mayford grew up in Manawa, Wis. and Delavan, Wis. and attended school there. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1946, until his honorable discharge in 1951.

He married Mary Ziesman in 1950; she preceded him in death. Mayford worked for Hillshire Farms in New London, Wis. for 16 years and later for Storms Egg Farm in Manawa. He married Maryann Peterson in July of 1989, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Kingsford.

Mayford is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Maryann; three sons, Edward Ziesman, New London, Ronald (Julie) Dain, Manawa and Michael (Joyce) Dain, Appleton, Wis.; two daughters, Barbara (Dennis) Hoffman and Linda Dain, both of Manawa; one brother, Jack Dain, Tenn.; three sisters, Marie Richter, Seymour, Wis., Rose Young, Bear Creek, Wis. and Joann (Bruce) Davids, Shawano, Wis.

In addition to his parents and wife Mary Ziesman, he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf.
