Obituary for Winifred I. "Winnie" Hoffman (Gerard)
Winifred “Winnie” I. Hoffman, 89, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Manorcare Health Services, Kingsford.
She was born September 10, 1926, in Norway, Mich. daughter of the late Lorenzo and Eunice (Hammill) Gerard.
Winnie grew up in Norway. She married Irving Hoffman in December of 1963, in Iron Mountain. They resided in Iron Mountain; Winnie worked at Colenso’s Clothing store as their buyer for over 25 years, before retiring. She was an active volunteer for the Dickinson County Cancer Society. Winnie loved spending time with her grandson and family.
She is survived by one son, Rodney (Cynthia) Gordon, Iron Mountain; two brothers, David (Karen) Anderson, Iron Mountain and Allan (Carolann) Anderson, Philadelphia; two sisters, Beulah (Gene) DuCharme, Iron Mountain and Sharon (Mike) Butler, Norway; one grandson, Ryan (Jennifer) Gordon, Iron Mountain; one great-grandson, Larkin and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Irving, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Loren Gerard and Howard Anderson and one sister, Muriel Eparvier.
Private family visitation and services were held at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Rev. James Danielson officiated. Burial was held in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, to honor Winnie’s legacy of life.
