Obituary for Edwin J. Wierzbicki

Edwin J.  Wierzbicki
Edwin J. Wierzbicki, 87, of Newell, S.D. passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015, at his home.

He was born June 1, 1928, in Three Lakes, Wis. son of the late Joseph and Martha (Kochewski) Wierzbicki.

Ed moved to Goodman, Wis., when he was about two years of age. He moved to South Dakota in 1949, and worked in dirt construction for over 65 years. Ed built many dams and roads in Western, South Dakota. He loved his work and passed it on to his sons. Ed had a great affinity for nature and a special gift for nurturing animals, wild and domestic. Ed loved Polka music and kidding around with friends and family.

He is survived by his friend and partner, Esther Blomberg; six children, Donna Wierzbicki, Belle Fourche, S.D., Ed (Sherry) Wierzbicki, Utah, Dennis Wierzbicki, Newell, Jerry (Laura) Wierzbicki, Newell, Marcia (Morgan) Strohschien, Belle Fourche, Martha Wierzbicki, Belle Fourche; four sisters, Rose (Knute) Knutson, Goodman, Helen (Pete) Osterberg, Goodman, Evelyn (Dale) Couch, Spearfish, S.D., Lillian (Ken) Burndt, Neenah, Wis.;11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Fence Bible Chapel, Fence, Wis. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Ken Burndt will officiate. Burial will be in the Fence Cemetery, Fence.
