Obituary for David A. Phelps

David A.  Phelps
David A. Phelps, David A. Phelps, 71, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.

He was born May 19, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wis., son of Gordon and Olive (Gussert) Phelps.

Dave served in the United States Army from 1962 until being honorably discharged in 1965.

He enjoyed playing cards, scenic car rides with Cousin Johnny and going to the casino.

Dave is survived by his mother, Olive (Hal) Schlag; one son, Keith (April) Phelps; one daughter, Kris (Kenneth) Sutton; one sister, Rosemary; four brothers, Jerry, Lenny, Kurt and Bill; one grandson, Jeremy Phelps and many loving relatives; dear friend of Rick (Sue) McCarthy; special grandfather of Tommy, Tim (Bimmer) and Tony (Tooter) and their Families. Special thanks to Cousin Kathy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Rex and his wife, Lynn.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Lin and the staff in the ICU and the Second Floor of Dickinson County Healthcare System.

In accordance with Dave’s wishes private family services were held.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Dave’s Legacy of Life.
