Allen F.  Tuthill
Allen F. Tuthill, 82, of Iron Mountain and Clearwater, Fla., passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at his home.

He was born May 10, 1933, in St. Petersburg, Fla., son of the late Merten and Lillian (Dugan) Tuthill.

Allen grew up in St. Petersburg and graduated from St. Pete High School. He went on to attend the University of Florida, where he received his bachelor’s degree. Allen served three years in the United States Coast Guard, from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1959, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He continued serving in the Coast Guard as a reservist for another 13 years. Allen married Betty Ullenius on March 7, 1959; in Chicago, Ill. Allen went back to the University of Florida and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for 36 years, in Florida, at GE, Westinghouse, and other corporations. Allen then moved to Madison, Wis. where he worked as an Electrical Engineer for six years.

He enjoyed collecting World War II items, working with electronics and was an avid Ham Radio Operator.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty; two sons, Allen and his wife, Wren Tuthill, Clearwater, Fla. and John Tuthill, Appleton, Wis.; two brothers and two grandchildren, Jenna and Jack.

Private Graveside Services were held at the Quinnesec Cemetery, Quinnesec, Mich. Pastor Tom Mackey officiated.
