Obituary for Bessie Simpson (Voris)
Bessie Simpson, 79, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.
She was born July 23, 1936, in Iron Mountain, Mich. daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Morrison) Voris.
Bessie grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School. She worked at the Dickinson Inn, the Iron Mountain Senior Center and Combination Lunch as a waitress.
She enjoyed singing, dancing, jewelry, games of chance, animals, soap operas, collecting stamps and spending time with her family.
Bessie is survived by one son, Douglas Miller, Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Eileen Miller, Green Bay, Wis.; one sister, Marie Veraghen, Breitung Twp.; one granddaughter, Marissa Miller and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Johnson and one special Uncle Bill Morrison.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Joe Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens, Iron Mountain.
The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Bessie’s Legacy of Life.
