Eva M. Taff, 72, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, Mich.

She was born October 17, 1942, in Tomahawk, Wis. daughter of the late Emil and Emma (Webie) Steinbach.

Eva grew up in Tomahawk and as a teenager moved to Florence; she graduated from Florence High School, Class of 1962. She married Donald Taff on July 7, 1962, in Tomahawk. Eva worked as a Constable in Florence County and also at the Golden Living Nursing Home as a CNA. She volunteered on the Florence County Rescue Squad.

She enjoyed painting ceramics, doing jigsaw puzzles, sewing, playing bingo, collecting dolls, feeding and watching the birds and deer and spending time with her grandchildren. More than ever she loved helping others and putting them ahead of herself.

Eva is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald; two sons, Lewis (Renee) Taff, Spread Eagle, Wis. and Bobby Taff, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one daughter, Linda Taff, Florence; three sisters, Irene Rowe, Il., Maryann (Marshall) Strieb, Ill. and Rosalie Smith, Tomahawk; five grandchildren; one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer, Rudy, Gerald and Emil Steinbach and two sisters, Audrey Hulce and Dorothy Bushar and one granddaughter, Amanda Taff.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Florence. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Robin Zeratsky will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
