Obituary for Gale A. Starnes

Gale A.  Starnes
Gale A. Starnes, 73, of Niagara, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home.

He was born April 20, 1942, in Felch, Mich. son of the late Arthur and Leona (Branback) Starnes.

Gale grew up in Felch and attended school there. He served in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged he lived in Iron Mountain for a short time before moving to Chicago, Ill. for work. Gale moved back to Iron Mountain and worked for Systems Control as a Lead Man Painter, retiring in 2005, after 32 years. He was a member of the United Brothers of Electrical Workers Union.

He enjoyed many hobbies, including, motorcycling, four wheeling, deer hunting, bird hunting, the outdoors and especially classic cars.

Gale is survived by his wife Jean; two sons, Rory (Laura) Starnes, Niagara and Lee Starnes, Escanaba; one daughter, Ginger Perron, Minneapolis; one brother, Brian Starnes, Iron Mountain; one sister, Doreen Lauscher, Escanaba; one daughter-in-law, Therese Geist, Gulliver; nine grandchildren, Carrie (Mike), Michael (Celia), Deborah, Paul, Blair (Brandon), Bradley, Courtney (Dustin), James (Laura) and Emery; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Gale’s wishes, private visitation and services were held.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel to honor Gale’s Legacy of Life.
