Obituary for Donald F. Koller

Donald F.  Koller
Donald F. Koller, 77, of Kingsford, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.

He was born December 3, 1937, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Fred and Mary (Schinderle) Koller.

Don grew up and attended school in Iron Mountain. He worked at Grede Foundry for 25 years before retiring.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Chicago Cubs, going to camp and was an avid Elvis Presley collector. Don, most of all, enjoyed, and could be found, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Don is survived by three sons, Donald (Connie ) Koller, Iron Mountain, Douglas Koller, Iron Mountain, and David (Julie) Koller, Iron Mountain; two daughters, Denise (Barry) Barglind, Iron Mountain and Darla (Jim) Pardon, Gladstone; one brother, Fred Koller, Kingsford; one sister, Audrey (Richard) Dallapiazza, Spread Eagle, Wis.; one aunt, Gertrude Koller, Iron Mountain; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Scott, Troy, Kyle, Kory, Megan, Jonathen and Cassie; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Jenny, Don was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia “Cookie” Koller and one sister-in-law, Vicky Koller.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.

Don’s grandsons, Kyle, Kory, Kevin, Scott, Troy and Dustin will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials can be made to the Dickinson County Cancer Closet, 1401 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Don’s Legacy of Life.
