Obituary for Harrietta M. Porte

Harrietta M.  Porte
Harrietta M. Porte, 69, of Iron Mountain, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Dickinson County Health Care System, Iron Mountain.

She was born August 19, 1945 in Marinette, Wis. daughter of the late Henry and Norma (Gooding) Porte.

Harrietta lived for a brief period of time at a young age in Iron Mountain then relocated to Alaska with her family. She moved to California and worked for the Los Angeles Times for many years. In the mid 1990’s, Harrietta moved back to Iron Mountain.

She was a “collector of collections”, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family were the light of her life.

Harrietta is survived by one sister, Judy (Bob) White, New Mexico; one daughter, Brenda Kelly, Tex.; one son, Richard Tolliver, Iron Mountain; two grandchildren, Josh (Tasha) and Joanna; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Madison, Rylee and Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Porte and one sister, Pauline Alquist.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Funeral Services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Doug Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Quinnesec Cemetery, Quinnesec.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Harrietta’s Legacy of Life.
