Roland J. "Lefty"  Marcell
Roland J. “Lefty” Marcell, 76, of Kingsford, passed away Saturday, April 04, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Tracy, with his family at his side.

He was born August 12, 1938, son of the late Norman and Evelyn (Applin) Marcell.

Lefty grew up in Stambaugh, Mich. and graduated from Stambaugh High School, Class of 1957. He married Nancy Jordon on March 26, 1962, in Stambaugh. They resided in Iron River for a few years before moving to Kingsford in 1966. Lefty worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 36 years before retiring. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Kingsford congregation. You can read about the hope he had from the Bible at www.jw.org.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and especially the time he spent with his family and friends.

Lefty is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of 53 years; two sons, Todd Marcell, Kingsford and Lance (Jen) Marcell, Kingsford; one daughter, Tracy (Darren) Alsteen, Kingsford; three brothers, Edward "Ted" (Diana) Marcell, Iron River, Norman “Tom” (Sandy) Marcell, Iron River and William “Bill” (Stephanie) Marcell, Aztec, N.M.; two sisters, Mary Kay (Jim) Shepich, Caspian, Mich. and Elizabeth “Beth” (Jim) Willis, Dixie, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Carla Marcell and Jean Marcell; eight grandchildren, Alyssa (Seth), Tadd, Kendra, Carlie Ann, Allie, Morgan John, Jenna and Karina; four great-grandchildren, Keiley, Liam, Rayce, Carter; special neighbor "neighbor Dan" and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Don Marcell.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, 1025 Carpenter Ave., Iron Mountain. A Memorial Talk will be held Saturday, 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Steve Bergfeld will officate.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Lefty’s Legacy of Life.
