Obituary for Alan Richard Brown Jr.

Alan Richard  Brown Jr.
Alan R. Brown, Jr. 62, of Hamilton Lakes, passed away, Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veteran’s Hospital, Iron Mountain.

He was born May 27, 1952, son of Alan Richard and June (Sanford) Brown,Sr.

Alan grew up in the Hamilton Lakes area and graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1970. He went on to attend Michigan Tech University. Alan served in the United States Army as a Military Police and was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged from the Army he returned to the Hamilton Lakes area. He served his family and his country proudly. Alan was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Norway and St. Barbara Catholic Church, Vulcan, Mich.

He enjoyed acrylic painting, playing the acoustic and bass guitar and especially enjoyed going out to eat on Friday night with his sisters.

Alan is survived by his mother, June of Hamilton Lakes; one brother, Drew (Karen) Brown, Vale, Ariz.; two sisters, Bernadette Brown, Hamilton Lakes and Georgia Corsi, Hamilton Lakes; his God-Parents, Aunt Shirlee and Don Johnson, Norway, Mich., one nephew, Nathan Emerson; four nieces, Sarah Corsi, Bethany (George) Marc-Aurele, Taylor Brown and Alana Brown; three great-nieces, Sophia, Ella and Julia; one cousin, Kim Honcik, Oswego, Ill.; his Aunt Diane Malone, Loretto and his extended family, the Sanford’s, Lapine’s and Rostagno’s.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Richard Brown, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Ted Corsi.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 21, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Norway. The Norway American Legion DeWinter Post No. 145, will accord Military Honors, Saturday, 11:45 a.m., at the church. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 12:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Irene White will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery, Norway.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Alan’s Legacy of Life.
