Obituary for Vera Agnes Bartolameolli (Geline)

Vera Agnes Bartolameolli (Geline)
Vera Agnes Bartolameolli, 97, of Iron Mountain, passed away peacefully Friday, January 30, 2015, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain, where she had been a resident for over three years.

She was born February 13, 1917, in Norway, Mich., daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (Barney) Geline.

Vera was one of nine children who grew up in Norway; she graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1935. She and Joseph F. Bartolameolli were married in 1938, in Norway, and then made their home in Iron Mountain, where Vera had resided until moving to Hyland in 2011. Joseph preceded her in death in February of 2005.

Most of Vera’s working days were spent in retail sales in various stores in Iron Mountain. She enjoyed her card clubs and shopping trips with friends. One of her greatest pleasures (and talents!) was the interior decorating of her home. Vera was a member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and the Daughters of Isabella and volunteered for many years at St. Vincent de Paul and Dickinson County Memorial hospital.

Vera is survived by her son, Joe (Bernie) Bartolameolli, Appleton, Wis.; three granddaughters, Lori (Dean Vernon) Lundell, Grand Rapids, Mich., Sheila (Bill Todd) Bartolameolli, Tonka Bay, Minn., Wendy (Bill Wilson) Lundell , Minneapolis, Minn. and one grandson, Jeff (JoAnn) Bartolameolli, DePere, Wis. and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rita Lundell; four brothers, Douglas, Erwin, Harold and Wade Geline and four sisters, Charlotte Geline, Ione Duford, Frances Johnson and Marge Duford.

Vera will be sadly missed by her family and friends who knew and loved her.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain for their exceptional kindness and understanding care.

Private services will be held at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Vera’s Legacy of Life.
