Obituary for Sherry M. Wolak (Bruce)
Sherry Mae Wolak, 62, of Crystal Falls, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, at Marquette General Hospital, Marquette, Mich.
She was born September 15, 1952, in Crystal Falls, Mich., daughter of Oliver and Clara (Claus) Bruce.
Sherry grew up in Crystal Falls and attended Forest Park High School. She married John Wolak on January 17, 1970, at the Baptist Church in Crystal Falls; he preceded her in death on October 11, 2013. Sherry enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting, going out to dinner and was passionate about her classic muscle cars; she also loved music and animals. Sherry especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her father, Oliver Bruce, Crystal Falls; one son, Donald (Riki Rouse) Wolak, Crystal Falls; one daughter, Dawn (Jim) Thoreson, Amasa, Mich.; one brother, John (Bonnie) Bruce, Crystal Falls; three sisters, Kathy (Dick) Cowell, Norway, Mich., JoAnn (Paul) McCallum, Hastings, Mich. and Patricia (Joseph) Blanton, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Cooper, Jesse, Joslyn, Eric, Kyler and Siiri; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Peter Casagranda.
In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her mother, Clara.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Micheal Laakko will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls in the spring.
