Obituary for Peggy Ann Johnson (McCabe)

Peggy Ann  Johnson (McCabe)
Peggy Ann Johnson, 63, of Republic, Mich., passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.

She was born August 11, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minn., daughter of Robert and Phyllis (VanDamme) McCabe.

Peggy along with her parents resided in Colorado Springs, Colo. and Cheyenne Wyo., before moving to Norway. She graduated from Norway High School, Class of 1969, and went on to attend Northern Michigan University. Peggy married Richard “Dick” Johnson in 1973, in Marquette, Mich. She was employed for over 20 years, at the Oscar G. Johnson Veteran’s Hospital, working in various departments. Peggy was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Channing, Mich.

She enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing the guitar, animals, the outdoors and the Green Bay Packers.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Dick; her father, Robert McCabe, Norway, Mich.; two brothers, Michael (Karen) McCabe, Sun Prairie, Wis. and Steven (Debbie) McCabe, Clinton Township, Mich.; two step-daughters, Dawn (Pat) Babin, Louisianna and Tammy (Robert) Fayette, Texas.; four nieces; one nephew; many cousins and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis and her brother, Patrick Joe.

Visitation will be Friday, December 19, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited, Friday, 6:50 p.m. at the funeral home. Prayers will also be offered, Saturday, December 20, 2014, 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Norway. Rev. Fr. Tim Ekaitis will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery, Norway.
