Obituary for Gwendolyn G. Neumann (Vose)

Gwendolyn G.  Neumann (Vose)
Gwendolyn Grace (Vose) Neumann, 74, of Foster City passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side, December 11, 2014, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain.

She was born December 20, 1939, daughter of the late Lloyd and Gertrude (Minke) Vose and step-father Julias Buydaert.

Gwen graduated from Demby High School in Detroit. She eloped with the love of her life, Gerald Neumann, to Ohio on January 16, 1960. They moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1969 and have spent the last 45 years here. She was a real people person and worked ten years at Sam’s and later Solberg’s Supper Club as a bartender for thirty years. After retirement she was an Avon Representative. Gwen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Foster City.

She is survived by her best friend and love of her life, Jerry; six children, Jeff Neumann, Kingsford, Mich., Mike (Carolyn) Neumann, Hardwood, Mich., Joel (Lynne) Neumann, Grand Rapids, Minn., Marc Neumann, Hardwood, Jackie Neumann-Meyers, Kingsford and Matt (Michelle) Neumann, Felch, Mich.; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and step-father, Gwen was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mildred Young Neumann and her father-in-law, William Neumann.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Visitation will also be held Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Foster City. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Darryl Pepin will officiate. Burial will be in Foster City Cemetery in the spring.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Gwen’s Legacy of Life.
