Obituary for Cecilia Jafolla (Paris)

Cecilia Jafolla (Paris)
Cecilia Jafolla of Iron Mountain went home to be with the love of her life Guido on November 30, 2014, at Manorcare Nursing Home, Kingsford, Mich.

She was born February 3, 1926, daughter of the late Basilio & Teresa Paris of Negaunee, Mich.

Cecilia, met and married the love of her life Guido Jafolla at a dance; from that night forward they did everything together and married on August 31, 1947. Throughout their married life they worked together to accomplish many incredible things side by side. They were a team in all aspects of their married life. While Guido worked out of town on construction, Cecilia remained in Iron Mountain running first a women’s dress shop (Cecilia's Smart Ware), later she maintained the Jafolla Apartment, now known as The Caring House. Together they built up 3 1/2 city blocks of real estate. Endless days of work and organization, this tiny dynamo took each and every challenge with great enthusiasm that was Cecilia.

Growing up with three sisters, Vera, Madeline and Margaret, Aunt Cecilia shared with me how those were some of the most cherished memories she had. Working together at a bakery, roller skating, riding bikes, sharing tasks, going to dances together were always fun times. Whenever she spoke of her sisters, she spoke with much love and family pride!

As a young woman, Cecilia enjoyed sewing and made many of her own clothes, including her wedding dress. She sewed a tan lace table cloth, lined with blue into an incredible and unforgettable wedding dress. Cecilia was not afraid of hard work and proved that by the life she led. She had many talents and was meticulous in her paperwork. It didn't matter what task was given to her, she took on the challenge and did it with great pride!

Cecilia and Guido were regulars at Pine Grove Country Club. They enjoyed dining with family and friends and sharing their love for Pine Grove! They also enjoyed having cocktail parties with golf friends throughout the years.

Traveling was a big part of their married life, as they traveled the United States and most of Europe together, sharing and making memories. Vegas became a favorite winter spot for them, making it a yearly event.
Cecilia, loved children and when her great nieces would visit her at the nursing home and sing and dance for her, she would light up with joy. Even though they may only be little girls, they brought her many smiles along with hugs and kisses. When her nephew would travel from Illinois bringing her sisters for a visit, she would talk about it for days after. It took so little to bring her joy.

I would like to personally thank the incredible team at Manorcare for the love, support and care they gave my Aunt. She was loved and fondly called and known as CC. She was not one to complain, but you made sure she had nothing to complain about...thank you for that!! As much as the tears may flow, we are at peace knowing that finally, the two souls are once again together again as they wanted to be!

She leaves behind her three sisters, Vera Brisson, Madeline Kauppila and Margaret Sippola, many nieces, nephews, and treasured close friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
