Obituary for Cecelia Saario (Kenjalo)

Cecelia  Saario (Kenjalo)
Cecelia Saario, 88, of Crystal Falls, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Northstar Health Services, Iron River, Mich.

She was born August 11, 1926, in Aurora, Wis., daughter of the late Michael and Boja (Zigich) Kenjalo.

Ceil grew up and attended elementary school in Aurora and her high school years in Kingsford. She went on to attend cosmetology school; she owned and operated Ceil’s Beauty Shop in Amasa, Mich. for many years, retiring in 1980. She married Alfred Saario in 1948, in Crystal Falls and he preceded her in death in 1985.

Ceil is survived by her special friend, Bob Luoma, Amasa; one son, Al (LeeAnn) Saario, Alpha, Mich.; two daughters, Mary (Peter) Sved, Laurium, Mich. and Marlene (Thomas) Dowty, Richardson, Tex.; five grandchildren, Rebecca (Karl) Eichberger, Nathan (Sara) Sved, Kristen Sved, Amy (Peter) Baumer and Michael Saario; six great-grandchildren, Estelle, Clare, Greta, Frank, Mary and Laurie and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Alfred, Ceil was preceded in death by three brothers, Eli Kenjalo, Steve Kenjalo and Mike “Mitchell” Kenjalo and three sisters, Angeline Ketola, Jennie Kenjalo and Melka Mackie.

Visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Hematite Township Cemetery, Amasa in the spring.

The family has chosen the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls to honor Ceil’s Legacy of Life.
