How I met Ron and became friends

I was saddened when I found out about Ron's passing.  But I want to share this story.  I met Ron on summer in 1987, prior to my wedding day.  I was a single golfer at the Countryside Golf course and the course asked if I would mind joining a twosome.  I agreed.  Ron was one of the members of the twosome.  He was sporting a Bears shirt, Bears, Visor and Bears golf bag.  At that point I thought nothing of it.  About 6 holes in, the sunm, beating down and getting hot, Ron removed the visor and pulled a Bears cap out of his bag.  I made the comment, "Either you are an avid Bears fan or you have something to do with the organization."  Ron replied, "I'm one of their sideline photographers."  I then asked if he also did weddings, to which he said yes.  We quickly became friends, I worked on a computer for his Dry Cleaners in Libertyville, and he ended up doing my wedding.  We remained friends until he moved to MI.  But before he left, he did a couple of things for me I will never forget.  Fisrt, he was able to get me 50 yard line seats to a pass to visit with the players after the game under the stadium.  Second, Ron gave me a signed photograph of Walter Payton, while sitting on the bench.  I'm in the process of have the signature certified.  My wife and I express our sincere sympathy to Ron's family.
