Obituary for Ronald O "Tex" Brazeau

Ronald O "Tex"  Brazeau
Ronald “Tex” Brazeau, 76, of Niagara, passed away Sunday, November 09, 2014, in Niagara, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 10, 1938, in Niagara, son of the late Oliver and Julia (Petersen) Brazeau.

Tex grew up in Niagara and graduated from Niagara High School, Class of 1958. During his high school years he set pins at the Kimberly Clark Bowling Alley. After graduation he worked in Milwaukee, Wis. for two years. He then served in the United States Army and after being honorably discharged, moved back to Niagara. Tex married Mary Miller on May 22, 1965 at American Martyrs Catholic Church, Kingsford, Mich. They resided in Niagara and Tex worked as a Millwright at the Niagara Paper Mill, retiring after 45 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Niagara Fire Department for 19 years. Tex was a member and usher at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara.

He loved all sports and excelled in football, softball, golf, boxing, and basketball and held the ski-jumping record on the Niagara Ski Hill for many years. Tex enjoyed gardening, riding his bike, walking and watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.

Tex is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary; five daughters, Debbie (Lyle) Smithson, Crystal Falls, Mich., Denise (Scott) Sexton, Niagara, Michelle (Steve Oman) Waugen, Niagara, Rhonda Paupore, Iron Mountain and Kristina (Jim Malone) Brazeau; Kingsford; one brother, Gerald Brazeau, Puerto Vallarata, Mexico; two sisters, Marjorie Favia, Ariz. and Janet Grosso, Menominee, Mich.; twelve Grandchildren, Marcus, Michael, Brett and Bryce Smithson, Hannah, Morgan and Hailee Waugen, Anthony and Andrew Paupore, Kendra, Nicholas, Nora and Sophia Malone and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Brazeau and one sister, Phyllis Willis.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara.

The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara Chapel to honor Tex’s Legacy of Life.
