American Legion Conferences ...

Hi Peggy ...

First ... I was shocked to say the least that Rich passed away!   You have my deepest sympathy and please pass it on to all the family.

This is Shirley from Iron River.   I have such fond memories of you two at the U.P. and State American Legion Conferences ... all the meetings, laughs, the meals and the dances!   You two were great dancers!

When I joined the "Purple Heart" Veterans Service Organization as a National Service Officer, Rich would often come in to my office at the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center and talk about his claim first -- either wanting to know if he should do this or that, what he should say, so I was happy that I was able to help him with my years of wisdom.   He would then talk about all the good times we all had at those conferences.

Rich was always polite with me and easy to talk with.   I would always tell him to say "Hi" to you when he walked out.   He always talked highly of you and would tell him to bring you in when he came into the VA.

Peggy ... always remember the good memories you shared with Rich; remember his laughter, his smile, his voice, his jokes, his hamming around, his love of boating and all the fond memories you and he created.

Take care and again, you have my deepest sympathy.   If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to call me at my office.
