Obituary for Erminia Urbany

Iron Mountain:
Erminia (Loia) Urbany, age 90, of Iron Mountain, passed away Monday, August 14, 2006, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain.
She was born July 5, 1916, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Dominic and Bianca (Romagnoli) Loia. She married Bernard J. Urbany on February 8, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Erminia was a 1934 graduate of Iron Mountain High School. She was employed by the U. S. Treasury Department, and the FBI, in Chicago for many years. In 1950, she moved back to Iron Mountain and became the first Agent Cashier at the VA Medical Center. She retired from there in 1977 as the Chief, in the Ambulatory Care Unit. Erminia was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Daughters of Isabella, and was a member of and past president of both the Dickinson County American Cancer Society and the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul and the Dickinson Memorial Gift Shop.
Survivors include one son, James (Nancy) Urbany; one daughter Sue Tamburrino; two granddaughters, Bianca and Maria Tamburrino all of Iron Mountain; one sister Anita (Roy) Hosking of Idaho Falls, Idaho; nephews, Don (Judy) Angera of Iron Mountain, Jeff (Diana) Hosking of Wyoming, Craig (Cheryl) Hosking of Connecticut; and special friends Norma Simone, Liz Mellon, and Mickey Schultz.
Beside her parents and husband Bernard, she was preceded in death by her beloved sister Tulia Angera and a special niece Mary Jo Angera.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2006, 4:00 – 4:30 p.m., at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Memorial Services will be Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
Memorials can be made to the Carmelites Monastery in her name.
