George E. Quick, 81, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at his home.
He was born April 27, 1929, in Iron Mountain, Mich., son of the late George and Francis (Maynard) Quick. George grew up and attended school in Iron Mountain. He married the former Caroline Johnston on August 23, 1975, in Iron Mountain.
George and Caroline lived in Green Bay for a short time before moving back to Iron Mountain in 1976. He worked at Schultz Equipment for five years before working for Schneider’s Iron & Metal, retiring in 1991.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his family.
George is survived by his wife, Caroline Quick; two daughters, Laura Quick, Fla., Ruby (Larry) Carr, Florence, Wis.; one brother, Peter (Joyce) Quick, Milwaukee, Wis.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Laurel Portelle; two brothers, Jim Quick, Bob Quick; four sisters, Annette Perry, Gladys Sorenson, Louise Aronson, and Betty Smokevitch.
Private family services were held. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
