Iron Mountain: William "Billy" Sandona, age 86, of Iron Mountain, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain. He was born September 7, 1920, in Caltrano, Italy, son of the late Santo and Maria (Dalsanto) Sandona. Billy worked as a chef in Peshtigo, Wis., for many years, as well as many other establishments in the area. He enjoyed many hobbies including going out to coffee with his friends, but most of all enjoyed dancing at many area events. He recently returned from a trip to Italy where he was able to visit with his brother and family. Survivors include a brother, Bruno (Divega) Sandona of Italy, a very special friend Mary Maines of Iron Mountain, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2006, 10 -11 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
