Obituary

William G. Perdue, 83, of Iron River, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at his home. He was born September 7, 1931, in Ironto, Va. son of the late Walter and Stella (Taylor) Perdue. Bill grew up in Virginia and graduated from high school there. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Germany, the Philippines and retired from KI Sawyer Air Force Base, Gwinn, Mich. after 21 years. Bill relocated back to Virginia where he worked for the Power Company for 17 years, retiring and moving to Iron County in 1986. He thoroughly enjoyed the Upper Peninsula and all the outdoors had to offer. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Anne, of 55 years; two sons, James (Donna) Perdue, Wichita Falls, Tex. and Mark (Lisa) Perdue, Fredericksburg, Va.; two brothers, Paul (Janet) Perdue, Front Royal, Va. and Everett Perdue, Colorado Springs, Col.; one sister, Thalia (Tommy) Huff, Roanoke, Va.; two grandchildren, Walter Perdue and Laura Perdue and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one sister, Lenoma Northcross. In accordance with Bill's wishes private family services were held. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Virginia. The family has chosen the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls to honor Bill's Legacy of Life.
