William C. Hill, 78, of Amasa, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009, at his home.
He was born January 1, 1931, in Crystal Falls township, son of the late Gust and Julia (Autio) Hill. He married Lorraine Cornelia and she preceded him in death in 1998.
Bill was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He worked the farm in Crystal Falls, worked in Chicago for a time, worked at the American Motors auto plant in Kenosha, Wisconsin and retired from Magiglide Inc., Amasa.
Survivors include, one brother, Matt Hill, two sisters, Eva Hill and Elizabeth Hill, all of Crystal Falls; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Toivo, John, and Nick Hill, and one sister, Vienna Maki.

Graveside services will be held Monday, May 11, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Hematite Cemetery, Amasa. Rev. Kevin Kaiser, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Amasa will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by the East Side Veterans Council.
