William Fier
IRON MOUNTAIN — William J. Fier, 70, of 1114 Cedar Ave., Iron Mountain, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Milwaukee.
William was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Chicago, son of the late Paul F. and Hilda (Klaczynski) Fier. He attended school and resided in Illinois.
He served our country in the U.S. Army.
Bill married Virginia Sturgeon in 1960, in Antioch, Ill. They resided in both Roseland and Bridgeview, Ill.
While in Illinois, Bill was a truck driver for many years. They moved to Iron Mountain a couple of years ago.
He enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, cement work and carpentry.
Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, William Fier Jr. of Crestwood, Ill.; two daughters, Sandy (Dan) Hartman of Niagara, Wis., and Rhonda (Russ) Galasinski of Lockport, Ill.; a brother, James Fier of Mississippi; three sisters, Alberta (Robert) Kadel of Romeoville, Ill., Barbara (Stan) Kilin of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Hilda (Gerald) Franks of Phoenix, Ariz., and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Celebrant Robert Fuse will officiate.
